Last sunday it was Grand Mothers’s Day in France. It’s been invented in 1987 by a French Coffee Brand named « Grand Mère ». I don’t care that it’s one more commercial Holiday. I like it. Of course I say « I Love You » to my grandma as much as I can but it’s one more special day for her. I love her so much.
She was there when I was born because my dad couldn’t make it so
Hey guys ! Yeah I’m back … Sorry for me being silent so long. I realized that it’s been 3 weeks since my last post … I did plan to post while in vacation but first I had to deal with the jetlag, then I’ve been really busy , ate a lot, walked a lot and then passed out when I came home at night.
Then I came back this week and had to deal with jetlag again and household chores … Argh
I spent two days in Paris this week. The weather was awful. So me and my Bff had only one thing left to do : Starbucks two afternoons in a row. Sometimes I think that the fact that there is no Starbucks where I live is a good and bad thing …

I wanted to bake something quick and simple because we needed something for our afternoon tea yesterday. That smelled so good we could hardly wait to eat them !
I made a few adjustments on my recipe. On the pictures they don’t look gooey. That’s the
I came across that Caramel Milk Syrup recipe in the Bon Appétit Desserts book during the holidays and I told to myself that I must try that recipe. Then I had all this leftover sweetened condensed milk in my fridge and evaporated milk in my pantry waiting to be used. I thought to myself : Bingo !!!
As it was my birthday last week ( in case you didn’t get that from my previous post or if you haven’t read it which you certainly have not ) I had some friends and family members that came over for lunch on Sunday. And I got to try something that I wanted to try for a very long time : My first layer cake.
Actually it was a lot of « Firsts ». : First swiss meringue
