I finally came back home Sunday evening.. My internship was so great that I applied for pastry school today. I met such great girls and I loved every minute of this internship.
They almost had to kick me out of the bakery everyday. Some days I was supposed to leave at 1pm and at 4 pm I was still there … I was really sad to say goodbye Friday evening… I wish this internship was longer.
Last sunday it was Grand Mothers’s Day in France. It’s been invented in 1987 by a French Coffee Brand named « Grand Mère ». I don’t care that it’s one more commercial Holiday. I like it. Of course I say « I Love You » to my grandma as much as I can but it’s one more special day for her. I love her so much.
She was there when I was born because my dad couldn’t make it so
I decided to try a new thing and do a new fondant cake and paint it. I told you that I went to art school a very long time ago and it was the first time in a very long time that I was actually painting. I loved it. I used this beautiful Yiying Lu illustration.
The thing is that my first attempt at covering this cake with fondant by myself was a disaster. I had to rip off the fondant, scrape the
I meant to post this for Father’s Day but obviously I didn’t. It was a long time ago.
I bought a lot of fondant while in Manchester last November but somehow I felt intimidated and didn’t used it . And few months ago , thanks to Ma Belle
Yesterday was Mother’s Day in France. I’ve never understood why we don’t have a worldwide Mother’s Day. .. Anyway. When I was in High school, my bff called me completely stressed out on a Saturday and told me that she was in trouble because it was Mother’s Day on Sunday and that she hadn’t known it and that she hadn’t planned anything for her mom and of course why hadn’t
Pomegranate. I’m in love with that fruit. I love the way that little seeds look and taste. I love their texture, well I love everything about this fruit.
I tasted it for the first time last November I think. I bought it at the supermarket, I actually I bought two because I was very curious about it. I had no idea of what I was supposed to do with it, how I was supposed to eat it or prepare
Tuesday was my mom’s Birthday and I love my mom so much that I needed to bake her a special Cake. So I started thinking. I wanted something original and that would really surprise her. And finally, while driving to the airport a few weeks ago I had the idea : An After Eight Cake.
My mom has always loved those After Eight thin mints. She loves chocolate filled with mint. She loves eveything
I came across that Caramel Milk Syrup recipe in the Bon Appétit Desserts book during the holidays and I told to myself that I must try that recipe. Then I had all this leftover sweetened condensed milk in my fridge and evaporated milk in my pantry waiting to be used. I thought to myself : Bingo !!!
My brother’s birthday is next week but he will be back in Canada by then so we decided on organizing a pre-birthday lunch while we are still all together, before he leaves. The day I picked him at the airport (3 weeks ago ), I asked him what he would like as a birthday cake and he answered me : « Un fraisier ».
First thing to know is I love strawberries so bad but I don’t like fraisier
Happy New Year !!! May all your dreams come true and I hope that this new year will be full of Happiness and tons of yummy cakes.
